100 Bus Diversion

I’ve just had the following email from TfL. It seems the 100 bus which serves Wapping will not be stopping at Tower Hill, Tower Gateway or St Katharine Docks from Monday to allow for gas works at Aldgate. I must admit this is the first I’ve heard of this and am surprised to hear the diversion could potentially last over a year.

Dear Miss Dockerill,I am writing to let you know that from Monday 28 July, there will be changes to bus routes in the Aldgate area. This is due to the closure of Minories for gas replacement work as part of the initial phase of the Aldgate Gyratory scheme.

Bus routes 15, 42, 78, 100, N15 and N551 will not serve Minories and will be diverted as follows:
Routes 15 and N15 towards Trafalgar Square will be diverted via Leman Street, Prescot Street and Mansell Street and will not serve Aldgate Tube station. There will be a new stop on Leman Street
Route 42, 78 and N551 towards Denmark Hill / Nunhead / Gallions Reach will be diverted via Whitechapel High Street, Leman Street, Prescot Street and Mansell Street
Route 100 towards Shadwell will be diverted via Whitechapel High Street, Leman Street and Dock Street and will not serve Tower Hill, Tower Gateway or East Smithfield, St. Katherines Docks.

These diversions are long term and expected to last over a year.

Yours sincerely
